This is Sammie's story of battling osteosarcoma and her big break into the big screen! Sammie worked with her dad, nurses, her family and BayKids to become the star of her movie. She wanted kids to watch her movie, "so that if they were in pain in the hospital, or if they got in trouble with their parents for being bad, they would feel better by getting to laugh and be happy watching the movie.

Stephanie set out to learn about moviemaking, and to practice getting out of her shell and talking about herself. She is a natural teacher among other kids. Stephanie learned storyboarding and other moviemaking skills from BayKids at Children's Hospital Oakland and then really let the process take off in a big way directing and working with other kids.
